Prof. Martin Beniston
Climatologist
A full professor, he holds the Chair for Climate Research at the University of Geneva. He shared the 2007 IPCC Nobel Peace Prize and has long-standing experience in the organization of many scientific activities, in particular in the context of the IPCC Second Assessment Report published in 1996. He is the initiator of the international Wengen Workshops on Global Change Research, and series editor of Advances in Global Change Research.
His career in research has led him to France, Australia, Canada, Germany and Switzerland. He is a member of international scientific committees in Austria, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and the EU. Author of several books and journals himself, he is a reviewer for numerous international scientific journals, and was elected to the Academia Europea in 2000.
